Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.51%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR), which rose 4.13% or 5.76 points to trade at 145.14 at the close. Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) added 2.95% or 0.88 points to end at 30.69 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 2.64% or 2.28 points to 88.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV), which lost 1.65% or 0.15 points to trade at 8.68 in late trade. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 1.19% or 3.95 points to end at 328.90 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) shed 0.88% or 1.95 points to 219.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which rose 6.92% to 7.73, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was up 5.29% to settle at 1.89 and Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which gained 4.22% to close at 5.68.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 22.86% to 0.78 in late trade, Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which lost 5.59% to settle at 11.66 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 3.33% to 2.50 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 272 to 226 and 92 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.03% or 0.79 to $2,665.59 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.16% or 0.11 to hit $68.83 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.17 to trade at $72.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 106.14.
