Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.50%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which rose 4.98% or 1.30 points to trade at 27.38 at the close. Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) added 3.75% or 1.65 points to end at 45.60 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was up 2.55% or 1.38 points to 55.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR), which lost 4.41% or 0.76 points to trade at 16.49 in late trade. TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) declined 2.27% or 1.19 points to end at 51.16 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) shed 1.91% or 0.16 points to 8.15.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which rose 12.75% to 52.29, Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which was up 5.42% to settle at 96.20 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) which gained 4.98% to close at 27.38.
The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 11.81% to 1.48 in late trade, Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which lost 9.91% to settle at 176.40 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which was down 6.99% to 25.54 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 322 to 171 and 77 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.45% or 14.94 to $3,318.66 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 3.16% or 1.91 to hit $58.51 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.14% or 1.99 to trade at $61.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 99.28.
