Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.26%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Safran SA (EPA:SAF), which rose 2.48% or 5.50 points to trade at 227.30 at the close. Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) added 1.89% or 1.60 points to end at 86.12 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was up 1.82% or 0.21 points to 11.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which lost 2.50% or 0.78 points to trade at 30.40 in late trade. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 2.01% or 1.76 points to end at 85.84 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) shed 1.41% or 0.66 points to 46.03.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which rose 4.55% to 4.14, Sopra Steria Group SA (EPA:SOPR) which was up 3.19% to settle at 177.80 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which gained 2.54% to close at 2.59.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 32.65% to 0.50 in late trade, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which lost 10.49% to settle at 6.79 and Derichebourg (EPA:DBG) which was down 5.67% to 4.22 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 252 to 245 and 88 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.45% or 12.01 to $2,670.51 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.91% or 1.98 to hit $70.08 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.62% or 1.88 to trade at $73.71 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 106.22.
