Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 1.14% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1), which rose 0.36% or 0.01 points to trade at 2.48 at the close. Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) added 0.21% or 0.03 points to end at 14.50 and Valmet Oyj (HE:VALMT) was down 0.22% or 0.06 points to 26.69 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Qt Group Oyj (HE:QTCOM), which lost 3.24% or 2.75 points to trade at 82.15 in late trade. Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) declined 2.99% or 0.55 points to end at 17.82 and Kojamo (HE:KOJAMO) shed 2.05% or 0.20 points to 9.31.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 110 to 59 and 20 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.15% or 0.13 to $84.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.33% or 0.27 to hit $80.56 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.78% or 18.10 to trade at $2,312.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 105.67.
