Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.72% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V), which rose 9.44% or 2.17 points to trade at 25.15 at the close. Kemira Oyj (HE:KEMIRA) added 4.96% or 0.55 points to end at 11.63 and Metso Oyj (HE:MEO1V) was up 3.69% or 0.89 points to 25.02 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V), which lost 2.18% or 0.87 points to trade at 39.12 in late trade. Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) declined 1.25% or 0.100 points to end at 7.875 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) shed 1.22% or 0.060 points to 4.840.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 101 to 69 and 22 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.77% or 0.82 to $45.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.79% or 0.80 to hit $43.95 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.81% or 10.75 to trade at $1320.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.0960, while EUR/GBP rose 0.48% to 0.8373.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.64% at 97.56.
