Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.70% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 5.02% or 0.320 points to trade at 6.700 at the close. Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMPO) added 1.85% or 0.83 points to end at 45.69 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 1.84% or 0.1450 points to 8.0100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Konecranes Abp (HE:KCRA), which lost 1.34% or 0.52 points to trade at 38.32 in late trade. Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) declined 1.12% or 0.37 points to end at 32.70 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) shed 0.72% or 0.40 points to 55.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 79 to 56 and 16 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 1.10% or 0.53 to $48.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.25% or 0.57 to hit $46.09 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.06% or 0.72 to trade at $1229.32 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.0991, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.8485.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 98.54.
