Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which rose 9.24% or 0.352 points to trade at 4.162 at the close. Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) added 1.67% or 0.51 points to end at 31.02 and Kemira Oyj (HE:KEMIRA) was up 1.52% or 0.16 points to 10.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V), which lost 0.97% or 0.14 points to trade at 14.31 in late trade. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) declined 0.78% or 0.05 points to end at 6.38 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) shed 0.24% or 0.09 points to 36.98.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 99 to 67 and 24 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 1.48% or 0.75 to $49.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.46% or 0.73 to hit $49.12 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.15% or 1.85 to trade at $1270.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.60% to 1.1308, while EUR/GBP rose 0.29% to 0.7694.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.46% at 93.73.
