Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 1.40% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were TietoEVRY Corp (HE:TIETO), which rose 6.32% or 1.17 points to trade at 19.69 at the close. Valmet Oyj (HE:VALMT) added 4.93% or 1.34 points to end at 28.51 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was up 4.18% or 0.44 points to 10.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kojamo (HE:KOJAMO), which lost 2.48% or 0.22 points to trade at 8.65 in late trade. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) declined 1.83% or 1.00 points to end at 53.50 and KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) shed 1.26% or 0.68 points to 53.48.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 97 to 73 and 18 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 0.69% or 0.48 to $68.82 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.92% or 0.61 to hit $65.70 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.21 to trade at $2,925.79 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 103.94.
