Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.66% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V), which rose 3.60% or 0.66 points to trade at 18.83 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 2.47% or 0.09 points to end at 3.69 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:TYRES) was up 2.16% or 0.14 points to 6.42 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which lost 2.43% or 1.36 points to trade at 54.52 in late trade. Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) declined 1.61% or 0.60 points to end at 36.60 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) shed 0.94% or 0.10 points to 10.56.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 105 to 69 and 15 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 0.44% or 0.32 to $72.18 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.26% or 0.18 to hit $68.75 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 8.01 to trade at $2,926.81 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 106.22.
