Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.38% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metso Oyj (HE:METSO), which rose 4.85% or 0.45 points to trade at 9.68 at the close. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) added 3.05% or 1.50 points to end at 50.74 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 2.18% or 0.06 points to 2.96 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V), which lost 2.85% or 0.52 points to trade at 17.59 in late trade. Valmet Oyj (HE:VALMT) declined 2.41% or 0.63 points to end at 25.47 and Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) shed 2.03% or 0.09 points to 4.43.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 69 and 21 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.71% or 0.56 to $78.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.85% or 0.64 to hit $74.80 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 10.44 to trade at $2,760.46 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 107.92.
