Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 2.69% or 0.09 points to trade at 3.47 at the close. Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) added 1.91% or 0.24 points to end at 12.82 and KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) was up 1.81% or 0.84 points to 47.33 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Valmet Oyj (HE:VALMT), which lost 1.83% or 0.50 points to trade at 26.75 in late trade. Qt Group Oyj (HE:QTCOM) declined 1.18% or 0.95 points to end at 79.85 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) shed 0.75% or 0.32 points to 42.14.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 101 to 70 and 15 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.17% or 0.15 to $86.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.18% or 0.15 to hit $82.96 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.68% or 39.20 to trade at $2,372.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.51% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 104.90.
