Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.24% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Mandatum Oyj (HE:MANTA), which rose 1.85% or 0.09 points to trade at 4.67 at the close. Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) added 1.77% or 0.24 points to end at 13.79 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) was up 1.04% or 0.44 points to 42.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 2.53% or 0.08 points to trade at 2.89 in late trade. Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) declined 1.95% or 0.68 points to end at 34.16 and Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) shed 1.09% or 0.05 points to 4.52.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 78 and 23 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.01% or 0.01 to $79.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $75.83 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.36% or 10.04 to trade at $2,769.24 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 108.01.
