Investing.com - The amount of new credit issued to consumers rose in line with forecasts in September, official data showed on Wednesday.
In a report, the Bank of England said that UK Net Lending fell to 5.5 billion, from 5.7 billion in the preceding month, which was revised up from 5.6 billion. The amount of lending is correlated to consumer confidence and spending.
Analysts had expected lending to rise by 5.5 billion in September.
After the report, GBP/USD was trading at 1.3163 compared to 1.3157 prior.
