(Reuters) - Construction equipment maker Caterpillar Inc (NYSE:CAT) continues to use Russian rail lines to move its parts and finished machines after suspending operations in the country last week, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday.
Caterpillar's rail shipments crossing Russia between Europe and China are operating as normal, the report https://bloom.bg/3JeY8hr said, citing an internal document outlining the company's logistics and supply-chain activities.
The Deerfield, Illinois-based company has stopped shipping parts and machines to its dealerships throughout Ukraine after Russia's invasion of the country, the report added, citing a person familiar with the matter.
Caterpillar, which sells to the construction, mining and oil and gas industries, did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for a comment.
Last week, Caterpillar suspended operations in its manufacturing facilities across Russia, joining a raft of western companies that have halted business in the country following its invasion of Ukraine.
