Investing.com – Morocco equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure, Chemicals and Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares declined 0.40% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Alliances (CS:ADI), which rose 2.50% or 1 points to trade at 40 at the close. Risma (CS:RIS) added 2.12% or 2.85 points to end at 136.85 and BCP (CS:BCP) was up 1.89% or 4.00 points to 215.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonasid (CS:SOND), which lost 6.12% or 35 points to trade at 535 in late trade. BMCI (CS:BMCI) declined 6.00% or 35 points to end at 545 and Stokvis Nord Afrique (CS:SNA) shed 6.00% or 1.44 points to 22.56.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 9 and 7 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.86% or 0.32 to $36.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.08% or 0.43 to hit $39.67 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.31% or 3.30 to trade at $1073.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.30% to 10.7930, while USD/MAD rose 0.38% to 9.8639.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.54% at 97.86.
