Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Azelis Corporate Services NV (EBR:AZE), which rose 1.70% or 0.25 points to trade at 14.99 at the close. KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) added 1.64% or 1.36 points to end at 84.28 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) was up 1.33% or 0.80 points to 60.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which lost 2.01% or 10.00 points to trade at 488.70 in late trade. Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) declined 1.67% or 0.52 points to end at 30.60 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) shed 1.63% or 0.34 points to 20.52.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 55 to 38 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.00% or 32.20 to $3,260.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.95% or 1.83 to hit $63.78 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.65% or 1.72 to trade at $66.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.79% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.67% at 100.92.
