Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Beverage and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which rose 3.65% or 13.10 points to trade at 371.80 at the close. UCB SA (EBR:UCB) added 1.64% or 2.25 points to end at 139.10 and Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB) was up 0.92% or 1.50 points to 164.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which lost 3.93% or 0.58 points to trade at 14.19 in late trade. Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) declined 1.75% or 1.57 points to end at 88.12 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) shed 1.34% or 0.90 points to 66.44.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 64 to 25 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.17% or 27.70 to $2,341.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.25% or 0.20 to hit $81.09 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.15 to trade at $85.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 105.46.
