Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 1.00% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ageas (BR:AGES), which rose 1.74% or 0.670 points to trade at 39.145 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) added 1.61% or 0.72 points to end at 45.65 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 1.58% or 1.95 points to 125.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UCB (BR:UCB), which lost 0.07% or 0.04 points to trade at 59.28 in late trade. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) added 0.25% or 0.25 points to end at 101.40 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) gained 0.37% or 0.40 points to 108.95.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 78 to 38 and 6 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.02% or 13.79 to $1337.41 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.33% or 0.63 to hit $48.11 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.07 to trade at $53.71 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.62% to 1.1961, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.9078.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 91.84.
