Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which rose 6.57% or 0.66 points to trade at 10.63 at the close. D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) added 3.04% or 6.00 points to end at 203.20 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 2.92% or 0.76 points to 26.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS), which lost 1.02% or 0.80 points to trade at 77.35 in late trade. UCB SA (EBR:UCB) declined 0.12% or 0.20 points to end at 162.95 and Aedifica (EBR:AOO) shed 0.08% or 0.05 points to 64.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 37 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.18% or 30.40 to $2,611.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.41% or 0.28 to hit $69.25 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.43% or 0.31 to trade at $72.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 101.04.
