United Arab Emirates shares mixed at close of trade; DFM General up 0.03%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Sunday, as gains in the Services, Insurance and Finance & Investment sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Banking and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.03%, while the ADX General index fell 0.09%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 12.07% or 0.210 points to trade at 1.950 at the close. Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) added 8.33% or 0.090 points to end at 1.170 and National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) was up 1.89% or 0.020 points to 1.080 in late trade.

Biggest losers included AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK), which lost 4.58% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.290 in late trade. Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) declined 1.71% or 0.020 points to end at 1.150 and Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD) shed 0.89% or 0.050 points to 5.550.

The top performers on the ADX General were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which rose 10.79% to 7.70, Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which was up 7.83% to settle at 1.240 and Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which gained 5.26% to close at 3.00.

The worst performers were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which was down 10.00% to 2.07 in late trade, Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which lost 1.47% to settle at 3.35 and Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which was down 1.20% to 2.46 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 8 to 7 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 8 fell and 8 advanced, while 5 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 2.98% or 0.98 to $31.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 3.44% or 1.18 to hit $33.10 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.30 to trade at $1226.60 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.20% to 4.0886.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 96.62.
