Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Household Goods, Aerospace & Defense and Food Producers sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.75%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were L`Oreal SA (PARIS:OREP), which rose 2.49% or 4.25 points to trade at 174.60 at the close. Vivendi SA (PARIS:VIV) added 2.28% or 0.55 points to end at 24.48 and Danone SA (PARIS:DANO) was up 2.01% or 1.24 points to 62.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Technip (PARIS:TECF), which lost 1.81% or 0.94 points to trade at 50.88 in late trade. Peugeot SA (PARIS:PEUP) declined 1.45% or 0.27 points to end at 17.98 and ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) shed 1.45% or 0.12 points to 8.14.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Zodiac Aerospace (PARIS:ZODC) which rose 3.19% to 28.02, BIC (PARIS:BICP) which was up 3.08% to settle at 160.75 and Eurofins Scientific (PARIS:EUFI) which gained 2.91% to close at 307.75.
The worst performers were CGG (PARIS:GEPH) which was down 3.61% to 4.40 in late trade, Vallourec (PARIS:VLLP) which lost 2.87% to settle at 14.54 and Teleperformance (PARIS:ROCH) which was down 1.83% to 66.36 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 452 to 359 and 54 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.99% to 17.73.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.48% or 5.30 to $1089.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.86% or 1.82 to hit $45.30 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 4.72% or 2.46 to trade at $49.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.0951, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.7028.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 97.59.
