Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 3.05% or 3.49 points to trade at 117.94 at the close. Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) added 2.40% or 0.40 points to end at 17.05 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was up 1.80% or 0.500 points to 28.340 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which lost 3.36% or 14.86 points to trade at 428.00 in late trade. Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) declined 3.04% or 4.21 points to end at 134.30 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) shed 2.68% or 0.590 points to 21.410.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 137 to 135 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.10% or 1.18 to $1240.72 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.94% or 0.90 to hit $47.30 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.74% or 0.85 to trade at $49.69 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.29% to 17.5258, while EUR/MXN fell 0.05% to 20.1815.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 94.61.
