Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Insurance, Transport and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Celebi (IS:CLEBI), which rose 2.05% or 0.39 points to trade at 19.42 at the close. Aselsan (IS:ASELS) added 1.86% or 0.20 points to end at 10.95 and Sise Cam (IS:SISE) was up 1.55% or 0.050 points to 3.270 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which lost 6.45% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.290 in late trade. Eczacibasi Ilac (IS:ECILC) declined 4.53% or 0.140 points to end at 2.950 and Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) shed 3.58% or 1.16 points to 31.22.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 292 to 62 and 48 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 2.16% or 26.15 to $1185.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $48.06 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.03 to trade at $49.09 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.89% to 3.4142, while EUR/TRY fell 0.01% to 3.5981.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.76% at 101.86.
