Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Financials and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 1.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which rose 8.15% or 0.75 points to trade at 9.95 at the close. Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) added 5.44% or 0.87 points to end at 16.87 and BR Malls Participacoes SA (SA:BRML3) was up 5.12% or 0.62 points to 12.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hypermarcas SA (SA:HYPE3), which lost 14.26% or 3.70 points to trade at 22.25 in late trade. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) declined 2.26% or 0.26 points to end at 11.22 and Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5) shed 1.96% or 0.38 points to 19.05.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 223 to 107 and 17 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.38% to 36.93.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.32% or 4.25 to $1322.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.39% or 1.62 to hit $49.47 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 2.58% or 3.64 to trade at $144.52 .
USD/BRL was down 2.17% to 3.2323, while EUR/BRL fell 1.71% to 3.5938.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.47% at 95.74.
