Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which rose 5.42% or 0.240 points to trade at 4.670 at the close. EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) added 4.68% or 0.36 points to end at 8.06 and Smiles ON (SA:SMLE3) was up 4.39% or 1.93 points to 45.86 in late trade.
Biggest losers included JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which lost 2.39% or 0.23 points to trade at 9.39 in late trade. Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) declined 2.22% or 0.35 points to end at 15.45 and Cia Energetica de Minas Gerais (SA:CMIG4) shed 1.22% or 0.07 points to 5.65.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 186 to 124 and 23 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.49% to 41.15.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.18% or 2.30 to $1292.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.51% or 1.22 to hit $49.78 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.86% or 1.23 to trade at $141.62 .
USD/BRL was down 0.51% to 3.4021, while EUR/BRL fell 0.14% to 3.8466.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.62% at 93.72.
