Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Mining and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 7.29% or 0.0094 points to trade at 0.1380 at the close. Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG) added 2.79% or 20.0 points to end at 736.0 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) was up 2.52% or 20.00 points to 815.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which lost 3.54% or 6100 points to trade at 166200 in late trade. NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) declined 3.36% or 2.82 points to end at 81.18 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) shed 3.25% or 0.0195 points to 0.5802.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 112 to 111 and 17 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.32% to 34.510.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.02% or 0.25 to $1214.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.47% or 0.23 to hit $49.24 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.82% or 0.41 to trade at $50.13 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.01% to 67.0927, while EUR/RUB fell 0.19% to 74.835.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 95.49.
