Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Trading, Motors and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which rose 50.00% or 981.80 points to trade at 2945.40 at the close. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) added 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 1.000 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 10.00% or 0.10 points to 1.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ceylon Hospitals PLC (CM:CHL), which lost 15.69% or 18.80 points to trade at 101.00 in late trade. Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) declined 7.69% or 0.10 points to end at 1.30 and Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) shed 7.14% or 0.10 points to 1.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 125 to 109 and 22 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.98% or 0.43 to $44.43 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.58% or 0.28 to hit $47.62 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.23% or 2.50 to trade at $1105.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.10% to 215.845, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 139.895.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 95.40.
