Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Sports, Telecoms and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Eczacibasi Ilac (IS:ECILC), which rose 5.38% or 0.210 points to trade at 4.110 at the close. Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA) added 4.15% or 0.080 points to end at 2.010 and Turcas Petrol (IS:TRCAS) was up 3.52% or 0.070 points to 2.060 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Is Gmyo (IS:ISGYO), which lost 6.71% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.390 in late trade. Tumosan Motor Ve Traktor (IS:TMSN) declined 4.56% or 0.360 points to end at 7.530 and Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) shed 3.07% or 0.150 points to 4.740.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 182 to 151 and 69 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.19% or 2.44 to $1266.64 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.38% or 1.18 to hit $48.44 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.31% or 1.21 to trade at $51.20 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.35% to 3.5651, while EUR/TRY fell 0.63% to 3.8766.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 99.12.
