Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Financials and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3), which rose 5.48% or 0.48 points to trade at 9.24 at the close. Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) added 5.63% or 0.81 points to end at 15.21 and Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA:RENT3) was up 5.23% or 2.00 points to 40.21 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5), which lost 3.51% or 0.17 points to trade at 4.67 in late trade. BRF SA (SA:BRFS3) declined 2.50% or 1.02 points to end at 39.78 and Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3) shed 2.03% or 0.39 points to 18.79.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 177 to 163 and 27 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.66% to 32.66.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.06% or 0.75 to $1203.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.60% or 0.79 to hit $48.49 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract rose 0.63% or 0.88 to trade at $141.38 .
USD/BRL was down 1.54% to 3.1439, while EUR/BRL fell 0.39% to 3.3647.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.77% at 101.19.
