Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Telecoms & IT and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols (MADRID:GRLS), which rose 2.73% or 1.075 points to trade at 40.445 at the close. Int.Airl.Grp (MADRID:ICAG) added 2.17% or 0.166 points to end at 7.816 and Gamesa (MADRID:GAM) was up 1.44% or 0.210 points to 14.795 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Abengoa B (MADRID:ABGek), which lost 8.60% or 0.080 points to trade at 0.850 in late trade. Acerinox (MADRID:ACX) declined 1.76% or 0.190 points to end at 10.590 and Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) shed 1.23% or 0.098 points to 7.883.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 105 to 98 and 6 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.25% or 2.80 to $1115.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.75% or 0.32 to hit $42.73 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.30% or 0.14 to trade at $48.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1027, while EUR/GBP fell 0.91% to 0.7043.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 97.03.
