Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Household and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which rose 10.00% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.330 at the close. Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) added 8.77% or 0.010 points to end at 0.124 and Intralot (AT:INLr) was up 8.28% or 0.13 points to 1.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elgeka (AT:ELGr), which lost 9.75% or 0.023 points to trade at 0.213 in late trade. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) declined 5.94% or 0.060 points to end at 0.950 and Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr) shed 4.34% or 0.02 points to 0.42.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 56 to 43 and 8 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.66% or 7.30 to $1109.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.06% or 0.91 to hit $45.06 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0.46 to trade at $48.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.1252, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.7281.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.31% at 95.67.
