Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Footwear & Textile and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) added 17.24% or 5.00 points to end at 34.00 and Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Serendib Engineering Group PLC (CM:IDL), which lost 8.70% or 0.60 points to trade at 6.30 in late trade. Convenience Foods (Lanka) PLC (CM:SOY) declined 8.42% or 30.80 points to end at 334.90 and Hunas Falls Hotels PLC (CM:HUNA) shed 6.79% or 3.40 points to 46.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 132 to 40 and 65 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.44% or 0.22 to $49.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.48% or 0.25 to hit $52.32 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.51 to trade at $1266.69 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.14% to 195.295, while USD/LKR rose 0.23% to 152.290.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 98.98.
