At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.40%, the S&P 500 index gained 0.41%, while the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 0.81%.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock bourses closed higher. France’s CAC 40 was up 1.18%; Germany’s DAX gained 2.02%; Britain’s FTSE 100 climbed 0.85%; and the EURO STOXX 50 rose 1.40%.
