Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Agriculture and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG), which rose 8.70% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.250 at the close. Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) added 3.66% or 0.95 points to end at 26.92 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) was up 3.15% or 0.550 points to 18.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Relapasa (LM:REL), which lost 3.02% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.225 in late trade. Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) declined 1.97% or 0.280 points to end at 13.920 and Casa Grande (LM:CSG) shed 1.67% or 0.100 points to 5.900.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 11 to 10 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.55% or 1.24 to $49.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $50.37 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.18% or 2.30 to trade at $1292.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2870, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7583.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.66% at 93.68.
