On the New York Mercantile Exchange, Natural gas futures for February delivery traded at USD2.804 per million British thermal units at time of writing falling 5.70%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD2.767 per million British thermal units. Natural gas was likely to find support at USD2.767 and resistance at USD3.047.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 1.44% to trade at USD94.35.
Elsewhere on the Nymex, Crude oil for March delivery fell 3.91% to trade at USD45.91 a barrel while Heating oil for February delivery rose 0.59% to trade at USD1.6366 per gallon.
