Investing.com – Colombia equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Investment, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombia, the COLCAP gained 1.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the COLCAP were Ecopetrol SA (CN:ECO), which rose 3.94% or 36.0 points to trade at 950.0 at the close. Grupo Argos SA (CN:ARG) added 3.40% or 520.0 points to end at 15820.0 and Bcolombia (CN:BIC) was up 2.71% or 560.0 points to 21260.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp (CN:PRU), which lost 4.14% or 65.0 points to trade at 1505.0 in late trade. Bolsa De Valores De Colombia (CN:BVC) declined 1.78% or 0.3 points to end at 16.6 and Avianca Holdings Pf (CN:AVT_p) shed 1.32% or 20.0 points to 1500.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 10 and 1 ended unchanged on the Colombia Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, US coffee C for March delivery was up 2.28% or 2.55 to $114.50 . Meanwhile, US cocoa for delivery in March rose 1.55% or 43.50 to hit $2852.50 , while the February Gold contract fell 0.50% or 5.50 to trade at $1100.70 a troy ounce.
USD/COP was down 2.22% to 3319.50, while BRL/COP fell 3.65% to 798.40.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 99.13.
