Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Insurance, Financials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 1.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which rose 13.04% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.104 at the close. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) added 8.13% or 0.036 points to end at 0.479 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 6.83% or 0.011 points to 0.172 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dromeas (AT:DROr), which lost 5.43% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.122 in late trade. Corinth Pipe (AT:CORr) declined 3.06% or 0.030 points to end at 0.950 and Iaso (AT:IASr) shed 2.57% or 0.019 points to 0.719.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 46 to 26 and 2 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.66% or 8.00 to $1195.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.75% or 0.38 to hit $50.80 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.85% or 1.02 to trade at $56.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.93% to 1.0679, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.7242.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.81% at 99.06.
