Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr), which rose 8.84% or 0.26 points to trade at 3.20 at the close. Dromeas (AT:DROr) added 8.00% or 0.010 points to end at 0.135 and Frigoglass (AT:FRIr) was up 5.26% or 0.10 points to 2.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which lost 7.86% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.129 in late trade. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 5.67% or 0.017 points to end at 0.283 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) shed 5.65% or 0.31 points to 5.18.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 42 to 32 and 5 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 1.79% or 21.30 to $1213.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.23% or 0.14 to hit $60.89 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.53% or 0.36 to trade at $67.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.22% to 1.1349, while EUR/GBP rose 0.91% to 0.7221.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.03% at 93.73.
