Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Finance & Investment and Real Estate & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 1.28% to hit a new 3-month low, while the ADX General index declined 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 3.67% or 0.031 points to trade at 0.875 at the close. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) added 2.26% or 0.040 points to end at 1.810 and Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) was up 0.96% or 0.008 points to 0.844 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which lost 6.86% or 0.041 points to trade at 0.557 in late trade. Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) declined 3.75% or 0.018 points to end at 0.462 and Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) shed 3.01% or 0.040 points to 1.290.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which rose 14.76% to 2.410, Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which was up 5.29% to settle at 2.190 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which gained 2.78% to close at 0.370.
The worst performers were Abd Nat Takafu (AD:TKFL) which was down 4.76% to 3.80 in late trade, Methaq (AD:METH) which lost 2.35% to settle at 0.830 and Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which was down 1.94% to 3.04 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 31 to 6 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 15 fell and 7 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.70% or 0.83 to $49.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.77% or 0.90 to hit $51.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.54% or 6.85 to trade at $1276.55 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.14% to 4.1214.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 96.02.
