Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 3.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI), which rose 13.69% or 0.1410 points to trade at 1.1710 at the close. Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) added 8.71% or 0.2000 points to end at 2.4970 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) was up 5.19% or 0.0040 points to 0.0810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA), which added 0.63% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.81 in late trade. Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) added 1.54% or 0.0001 points to end at 0.0066 and Portucel (LISBON:PTI) gained 1.55% or 0.0540 points to 3.5440.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 64 to 6 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.30% or 0.17 to $58.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $52.85 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1159.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.96% to 1.1143, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.7194.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.58% at 96.10.
