Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Information Technology and Tourism sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kartonsan (IS:KARTN), which rose 6.51% or 18.50 points to trade at 302.50 at the close. Konya Cimento (IS:KONYA) added 4.85% or 16.00 points to end at 346.00 and Vakif Gmyo (IS:VKGYO) was up 4.74% or 0.11 points to 2.43 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KOC Holding (IS:KCHOL), which lost 2.45% or 0.30 points to trade at 11.95 in late trade. Sabanci Holding (IS:SAHOL) declined 1.75% or 0.15 points to end at 8.40 and Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC) shed 1.69% or 0.25 points to 14.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 302 to 93 and 14 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.22% or 2.40 to $1071.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.77% or 0.33 to hit $42.54 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.16% or 0.54 to trade at $45.59 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.31% to 2.8874, while EUR/TRY rose 0.11% to 3.0661.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 99.83.
