Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 17.28% or 0.0330 points to trade at 0.2240 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 1.87% or 0.150 points to end at 8.190 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.22% or 0.0370 points to 3.0820 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco BPI (LS:BBPI), which lost 3.04% or 0.0340 points to trade at 1.0850 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 2.12% or 0.0004 points to end at 0.0185 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) shed 0.88% or 0.0550 points to 6.2140.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 33 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 1.47% or 0.69 to $47.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.22% or 0.98 to hit $45.13 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.20% or 2.70 to trade at $1330.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1153, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8374.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 95.72.
