Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Retail, Financials and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which rose 7.65% or 0.027 points to trade at 0.379 at the close. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 7.14% or 0.008 points to end at 0.120 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was up 6.07% or 0.057 points to 1.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 4.87% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.2180 in late trade. Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) declined 3.41% or 0.59 points to end at 16.73 and Korres (AT:KRRr) shed 3.11% or 0.140 points to 4.360.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 71 to 32 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.59% or 7.25 to $1237.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $48.84 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $51.82 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.91% to 1.1075, while EUR/GBP rose 0.79% to 0.8575.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.68% at 98.14.
