Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.58% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which rose 2.93% or 0.2550 points to trade at 8.9500 at the close. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MILAN:FCHA) added 2.60% or 0.3500 points to end at 13.8100 and Tod'S (MILAN:TOD) was up 2.59% or 2.05 points to 81.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset (MILAN:MS), which lost 4.10% or 0.192 points to trade at 4.492 in late trade. Autogrill (MILAN:AGL) declined 3.18% or 0.27 points to end at 8.22 and Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MILAN:YNAP) shed 2.95% or 0.90 points to 29.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 248 to 192 and 1 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.83% or 0.41 to $49.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.22% or 0.12 to hit $52.94 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.24% or 14.20 to trade at $1158.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.90% to 1.1378, while EUR/GBP rose 1.12% to 0.7429.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.61% at 94.82.
