Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Services, Banking & Financials and Mining & Oil sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite lost 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Universal Robina Corp (PS:URC), which rose 2.24% or 4.600 points to trade at 209.600 at the close. Metro Pacific Investments Corp (PS:MPI) added 1.22% or 0.070 points to end at 5.830 and Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) was up 0.87% or 1.1000 points to 127.1000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PS:TEL), which lost 3.72% or 68.00 points to trade at 1760.00 in late trade. Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PS:BLOOM) declined 3.37% or 0.150 points to end at 4.300 and San Miguel Corp (PS:SMC) shed 2.44% or 1.750 points to 70.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 146 to 51 and 39 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.37% or 4.65 to $1235.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.73% or 0.31 to hit $42.95 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.77% or 0.34 to trade at $44.66 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.25% to 7.2092, while USD/PHP fell 0.25% to 46.810.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 94.54.
