Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, Electricity and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Minsur (LM:MINi), which rose 1.54% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.320 at the close. Milpo (LM:MIL) added 1.15% or 0.030 points to end at 2.650 and Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) was up 1.10% or 0.050 points to 4.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which lost 3.66% or 0.380 points to trade at 10.000 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 2.78% or 0.020 points to end at 0.700 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) shed 2.63% or 0.005 points to 0.185.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 12 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 4.34% or 2.58 to $56.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.40% or 1.52 to hit $62.05 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.34% or 4.00 to trade at $1167.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.06% to 3.1785, while EUR/PEN fell 0.23% to 3.5345.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.76% at 96.48.
