Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Holding Firms and Property sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite fell 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which rose 2.15% or 0.240 points to trade at 11.420 at the close. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) added 1.77% or 0.100 points to end at 5.760 and Intl Container (PS:ICT) was up 1.39% or 1.500 points to 109.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metro Pacifi I (PS:MPI), which lost 3.93% or 0.190 points to trade at 4.650 in late trade. Jollibee Foods (PS:JFC) declined 2.95% or 6.600 points to end at 217.400 and Robinsons Land (PS:RLC) shed 2.34% or 0.700 points to 29.250.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 104 to 89 and 19 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.03% or 0.40 to $1210.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.27% or 1.23 to hit $52.76 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.10% or 0.65 to trade at $58.45 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.02% to 7.1734, while USD/PHP rose 0.03% to 44.485.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.54% at 97.72.
