Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Financial Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which rose 3.19% or 1.100 points to trade at 35.700 at the close. Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) added 3.65% or 0.150 points to end at 4.240 and Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) was up 2.10% or 3.010 points to 146.290 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which lost 3.26% or 1.130 points to trade at 33.690 in late trade. Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) declined 2.58% or 2.600 points to end at 97.980 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) shed 2.13% or 4.900 points to 224.820.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 71 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.91% or 11.30 to $1224.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 4.23% or 1.62 to hit $36.72 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 4.09% or 1.65 to trade at $38.68 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.46% to 17.3589, while EUR/MXN rose 0.57% to 19.7766.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 94.60.
