Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Food & Beverages and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.53% to hit a new 3-year low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 3.75% or 0.150 points to trade at 4.150 at the close. Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) added 1.40% or 0.200 points to end at 14.500 and Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) was up 0.66% or 0.030 points to 4.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which lost 13.57% or 0.038 points to trade at 0.242 in late trade. Casa Grande (LM:CSG) declined 5.29% or 0.180 points to end at 3.220 and Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) shed 5.00% or 0.010 points to 0.190.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 4 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.43% or 0.13 to $30.57 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 2.47% or 0.77 to hit $30.18 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.76% or 8.20 to trade at $1093.40 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.04% to 3.4249, while EUR/PEN fell 0.39% to 3.7051.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 98.93.
