Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.70% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV), which rose 5.00% or 1.47 points to trade at 30.89 at the close. Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) added 3.24% or 1.05 points to end at 33.42 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was up 3.01% or 0.265 points to 9.065 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V), which lost 1.83% or 0.26 points to trade at 13.91 in late trade. Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) declined 1.19% or 0.29 points to end at 24.13 and TeliaSonera AB (HE:TLS1V) shed 0.87% or 0.040 points to 4.560.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 101 to 81 and 4 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.22% or 0.58 to $47.40 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.79% or 0.81 to hit $44.39 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.46% or 16.10 to trade at $1088.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.37% to 1.0734, while EUR/GBP fell 0.29% to 0.7135.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.27% at 99.34.
